Annola has had a passion for storytelling from an early age. She grew up in the small mid-west city of Lawrence Kansas and she loves to share life experiences and her vivid imagination through her “tellings“. As a mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter and sister, Annola has a lot of amusing life-stuff to share.

PERSONALITIES

Grandmother Banbatu, is an African wise woman. She tells stories of delight as well character building stories. Grandmother Banbatu loves to use Ananse the Spider, a famous African folklore character, as the main character for her stories. But whether it is a story of 4 Foolish Monkeys, The Great Green Googly Monster or a sheep who knows how to be herself, she leaves a small bit of wisdom in the young minds. Some of her tales are old ones, but most stories are her own original work.

Aunt Annie, tells stories that are just for fun as well as of the old favorites of Bro Rabbit and Bro Fox. Aunt Annie’s focus is on the stories honoring the diversity of our American history.

Thanks for the Memories (as herself)
During her five years as an Activities Director in long term nursing facilities, Annola became adept at leading reminiscent groups. This activity often centered on telling stories about growing up and living life. Her talent for singing allows her to do sing-a-longs of old favorites and sacred hymns. Annola gives an enchanting presentation that everyone enjoys.

Whether it is a family story, historical rendering or one of sheer imagination, Annola spins a good yarn! Her gifts as an artist and a singer often add to the magic! She has written and self published several children’s stories and plays as well as a coloring book.

Her current fees are $150 per hr plus mileage.
